About siTOOLs

siTOOLs Biotech is made up entirely of scientists providing innovative tools and services for the study of gene function.

Based in the dynamic Munich-Martinsried biotech cluster in Germany, siTOOLs was founded in 2013 by experts in the RNA field. Dr. Michael Hannus (previously RNAi Screening Lead from Cenix Bioscience) and Prof. Dr. Gunter Meister (Head of RNA Biochemistry at the University of Regensburg).

Together they developed siTOOLs’ key product, siPOOLs, the world’s first defined, high complexity siRNA pools that produce reliable RNAi results through its exceptional gene targeting specificity and efficiency.

Supported by the German government and private investment, siTOOLs has grown organically from local start-up to a world-wide supplier. siTOOL’s reagents are routinely being used in target validation for drug discovery by pharma/biotech and in multiple research projects by leading academic labs.

The siTOOLs Biotech blog is a repository of observations, experimental and bioinformatics-based findings and practical advice aimed to help researchers studying gene function.
